I dont understand...why your most creative player need to be at the end of the pitch at the end of the rotation? Great video edit, but not practical to be applied..
Going to discuss this with my group of high schoolers specifically on the first 5 minutes of the game to read the opposing side. Thinking about referring to it as the reading phase. Funny how your channel popped up the moment I start planning next season. I’d love some small sided drills to do throughout the year since I have a small squad. Thanks!
Thank you for videos. Where did you get such board with coridors?
Awesome
I'm glad you found it useful!
I love this ,am new and learning how to analyze football matches
Happy to help!
Yellow team's structure is almost identical to Arsenal's
I'm an Arsenal fan!!
@@CoachReese Me too! Always find it fun to see our structure change during games. You often see that we start with a 3-2-5 and when our buildup settles it goes to the 2-3-5 of your video :). Very curious to see what impact Timber will have to that build up structure
Almost 20k already omg!!! Happy for you mannnn!!! Keep up the good work!
Thanks! I've got some videos planned in the future I just had to take a little break to work on other projects!
Result : 5 UCL Championships 2003 and 2007 with AC Milan 2014, 2022, and 2024 with Real Madrid
Don Carlo!
Great work
Thank you! Cheers!
Brother, we need more videos from you!!
Thanks! There is more to come, I've just had to take a little break while I work on ebooks!
I love your content, thanks for all you share
My pleasure! I'm glad you're finding it all useful!
That’s more third man running. Opposite movement is when the striker comes towards the ball, brings the defender with him but then spins off back towards the goal. Or when a cross comes in and the striker makes out that he’s going back post but then darts towards the near. That’s opposite movement. You showed a variation of third man running
What you're describing is called a double movement, which is completed by an individual. An opposite movement is a rotation involving two players. As with most rotations other concepts will be involved if you're looking at the wider picture
Can you show how to calculate PPDA using actual data?
Hi coach , wich tactical board are you using to draw the tactical lines. I've looked everywhere but did'nt find it. Videos are great thanks !
افضل مدرب في تاريخ كرة القدم ❤
اعتقد انه سيعود اليها ولتطبيقها عندما يتعاقد ريال مدريد مع كيليان امبابي
👍👍👍👍❤️
There are reason why pep praised him a lot. The manager who could manage any team in the world. But he had bad habit, which rigidity. That's why he rarely won anything. If at least diego simeone or Bielsa who manage Argentina, their could had world cup already
Absolutely!

No problem! I’m glad you found it useful!
You should take a look at the moronic escapades of Farke at Leeds, and no doubt at previous clubs. Half the teams we play at Championship level bring a low block to the table and though these practices are used we invariably end up needing a goal late in the game. Enter the Farke 316 formation where he loads up bodies in and around the penalty box of the opponent whilst giving up midfield control and resistance to counter attack . . . see Blackburn. Clueless.
I was actually at the Hull game a few weeks ago! What are your thoughts on the potential play offs?
I miss this team.. it was seen as a fluke the way they won the PL but they actually had a crazy good team
I know what you mean!
Great explanation! Very clear and effective examples. How would you go about getting mates from an amateur team to understand and apply these concepts?
Great question! You have to simplify the concept initially, then you can build it up to its most complex
Ur very 👍🏼 good . Keep it up mate
Thank you 🙌
Coach, can this tactic also work on 7 v 7?
To some degree yes, but you have to be aware of the differences between the 7v7 game and 11v11 game.
Vini Bellingham Rodrygo
Thanks!
No problem!
Thank you Coach! God bless you.
No problem Randolph! I'm glad you found it useful!
The biggest problem for possession based teams is when they man mark and don’t press the goalkeeper even if he starts to dribble higher. It ends up in the keeper having to play long into players who more than likely aren’t very physical because of the player profiles in a possession based team. Soon enough teams will have to create a structure in which it makes the likeliness of a long ball end up in a high chance of keeping the ball from the goalkeeper. If they don’t create a specific structure for long balls against man marking they’ll end up losing the ball and end up in a transitional game which will benefit the opponent player profiles more than the technical team.
To avoid that long balls a center back can join the pivot to form a double pivot and then it will be a 2 vs 1 in the midfield wich can help to progress without going long.
Interesting, I would have expected the left winger to be the one to tuck in and the left back to go high and wide in this instance, but inverted fullbacks really are becoming THAT prominent, which is cool!
Great video coach

Hi Reese, as you have a lot of knowledge on football tactics If you could name 6 tactical trends currently in world football that you think football fans should know about what would they be?
In terms of tactical approaches the major ones are probably: - Positional play - most top teams are positionally focused - Relationism - seems to be the next potential idea/ alternative to positional play Important things to know are: - Counter-pressing - Man orientated pressing (man marking) - Ball orientated pressing - Different forms of superiority: Numerical, qualitative, positional (concept from within positional play) - Along with a lot of little things such as - the half-spaces, key players roles such as the libero (John Stones), Regista (Rodri), Inverted full-back (Zinchenko)
@@CoachReese Thank you for your reply I asked the question as I think it’s important to gain an insight into your opinions on football as you have a lot knowledge. Here are some of the trends that I’ve heard of Hybrid pressing, CBs inverting into midfield, baiting of the press/generating space, the positives of direct -> counter pressing to by press the first line of engagement lopsided attacking structures, rest defence/attack. What are your thoughts on those tactical trends that I’ve mentioned and what are the benefits of those tactical trends and If you could recommend a few football tactics books to help with understanding tactics that we see today which books would you recommend?
CBs moving into midfield is the modern libero. Hybrid pressing is a combination of zonal/ ball and man marking pressing. A rest defence is a core component of a team's attacking structure used to support/ circulate the ball, but important during a counter-press. Generally used within positional play teams a rest defence will be structured in either a 2-3/ 3-2 depending on the overall attacking structure of the team. A rest attack refers to the most advanced players within a team's low/mid-block and used during attacking transitions to ease the process and increase the overall success of the team. Baiting the press is the attacking team using pressing triggers to their advantage. This encourages the forward line of the pressing team to jump creating space to be exploited. It's a bit of a self plug, but I have an ebook that contains an explanation of the tactical concepts we're discussing and the majority of the others used in the modern game. It's available through the link in the description with 20% off.
@@CoachReese Thanks I will look at the book, Do you think it’s important regarding how a team wins a game instead if they won the game. When I say ‘how’ I mean the types of chances the team creates and the amount of control a team has in both boxes. As a lot of football fans says a manager plays ‘good football’ like it is a big deal when there’s more to football than playing good football. For example alot of people say De Zerbi plays good football which somehow means his a good manager because he plays good football. I think ‘how’ you win is more important than playing good football what do you think? My point is a lot of football fans are saying a manager is good just because the manager plays good football which seems like a lazy answer/opinion to give when praising a manager. What football podcasts that gives good opinions and talks about tactics would you recommend?
My challenge to that is always - "What is good football?" Is good football entertaining football or is good football one that wins a game? The managers who use positional play have a very distinct style of football and usually win games. But so can managers who sit in a low-block and counter-attack. Mourinho/ Simeone have a very distinct style that differs greatly from the more entertaining positional play approach. But both are great managers. I agree with in that saying a manager is a good manager because they play good football is a lazy answer. Being a football manager is so much bigger than the tactics they use. That's the tip of the iceberg really. For me a manager should be judge on: Their tactics, the quality of the environment they create for the players, how they motivate players, how they handle different challenges, their adaptability during games or difficult moments and their behaviour
Thanks man, I'm grateful
No problem! I'm really glad you found it useful!
There is much much more to management than just tactics.Ask Gerrard,Lampard and Rooney.
Oh absolutely. The tactics don't define the success of a manager, but they're a crucial component. A lot of management is how you motivate and manage people
great video
Thanks Samuel! I'm glad you found it useful!
Indeed! Hope you're doing okay, missed seeing your tactics videos on youtube :)@@CoachReese
@@samuellim9172 I'm all good Samuel! I've been focusing on writing e-books which has taken a lot of time! But I'm now doing the final bits of testing for new content coming out soon

You explain the tactics very clearly. Thanks coach!
Happy to help!
Great video coach!
More to come!
Is it like a second striker?
Depends on the formation. With a single striker, probably not, but in a 4-4-2 or something similar. It could function like a second striker
@@CoachReese thanks for replying even thought the video was made 1 year ago!
Like the examples
